These courses provide a solid grounding in IT, which is crucial for individuals seeking to specialize in the cybersecurity field

Additionally, obtaining certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or CompTIA Security+ can give candidates an edge in becoming experts in cyber security. There are various institutions in Uganda that offer the certifications mentioned above and courses including Makerere University, Uganda Technology and Management University, and the Uganda Institute of Information and Communication Technology.

This can be gained through internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level positions in cybersecurity companies.
